Frequently Asked Questions regarding Tersano SAO:
What is SAO™?SAO stands for Stabilized Aqueous Ozone. SAO is nature's most powerful cleaner and is the ultimate sanitization solution to eliminate pathogens like bacteria, viruses, molds and fungi. SAO has been certified safe by regulatory bodies around the world and has earned the coveted Green Seal™ certification meeting GS-37 and GS-53 performance standards. SAO delivers relentless sanitization from regular tap water and electricity - where needed, when needed.
What is Ozone?Ozone has been a known sanitizing agent for over 100 years. The scientific literature is extensive regarding the ability of ozone to act as an oxidizing agent against pathogens. As an oxidizing agent ozone destroys pathogen cells. Ozone is > 50 times more powerful than chlorine, and 3,000 times faster at killing bacteria and other microbes (even in low concentrations).
Where do I use SAO?Applications include carpets, stone, marble, ceramic, glass, mirrors, bathrooms, stainless steel & chrome, TV monitors, computer screens, appliances, white boards, hardwood, and vinyl. SAO is an approved sanitizer that also deodorizes.
What is the ROI on this product? In H2O3 customer applications SAO has displaced many and some cases all the chemicals resulting in some substantial cost savings
Does SAO kill Corona Virus COVID-19?SAO has been 3rd party lab certified as being 99.99% effective against pathogens (including virus strains like COVID-19), yet safe for humans.
Do I need to wear PPE when cleaning with SAO?SAO has Safety Data Sheet (SDS) rating of 0-0-0-A meaning it poses no harm to people, the environment, or any surface. However, the use of protective gear should be worn at your discretion, according to the organic matter or pathogens you are encountering.
What if SAO is ingested?SAO is intended to fill mop buckets, auto-scrubbers, carpet extractors and spray bottles for the purpose of cleaning, removing stains, deodorizing and killing germs. The solution is not intended for consumption, but it will not harm someone if they accidentally drink it.
Can the solution remove mold?Stabilized Aqueous Ozone is effective at eliminating all pathogens - so it kills mold. To remove mold, areas must then be cleaned, and then soiling removed/extracted.
What if I doubled the amount of conventional chemical cleaner in my application?Actually, increasing the dose of conventional chemicals is not only wasteful, but is dangerous (potentially causing adverse health effects) to the applicator if used in high concentrations or mixed with other chemical. SAO is safe, effective, and sustainable (generated onsite from tap water and electricity).
Cleaning is the same as sanitizing? Not true. Cleaning removes soil from a surface. Sanitizing reduces the presence of pathogens (i.e., bacteria, virus, spores, mildew, fungus, molds). H2O3 recommends SAO to clean and sanitize surfaces in order to reduce exposure to harmful pathogens.
Are disinfecting chemicals (including CDC List N approved products) harmful to human health? They can be - even after the application and the chemical residual drys and flakes off into the air. Bleach and ammonia-based liquid chemicals used in conventional disinfectants can also cause respiratory stress, and be damaging to skin and irritating to eyes. Furthermore, if conventional chemicals are improperly mixed with other chemicals, the reaction can be dangerous and potentially fatal. SAO has no residual left after treatment, and is effective at killing germs, and is non-toxic.
Are Conventional Chemical products are readily available? Product shortages and extended supply chains are preventing businesses from getting their traditional cleaning materials. SAO is a safe and sustainable on-site generation (tap water and electricity) solution with fast acting sanitization eliminating most pathogens in seconds, while leaving no residual because ozone reverts safely back into oxygen. Is the SAO dispenser difficult to install? The installation is quite simple. The unit is attached to the wall with basic anchors. All the attachments between the dispenser and cartridge are easy “quick connects”. The dispenser does not have to be “plumbed” for the cold water supply (though that may be your preference). A simple hose can be attached to a faucet (usually in a maintenance closet) and it will work perfectly. The dispenser and cartridges are also maintenance free. Replacing consumed cartridges is also simple (and we recommend having 1 spare on hand for when a swap is required). Do I need to retrain my staff for cleaning and sanitizing with SAO? As SAO displaces your conventional chemical products, your SOP (standard operating procedures) remain intact. The only change will be to fill your applicator (buckets, spray bottles, fogger, electrostatic sprayers, floor cleaning equipment) wil SAO. No mixing, no dilution tables, no need for several products - SAO is an all-in-one solutions for your cleaning and sanitizing needs. Is SAO in use elsewhere? Aqueous ozone has been recognized by business and industry as a superior pathogen-inactivating solution for more than three decades. SAO units are in operation in more than 30,000 high-touchpoint locations, including hospitals, hotels, universities, health clubs, food processing (farm to fork), commercial kitches, and restaurants.
